KJV : Josiah [was] eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name [was] Jedidah, the daughter of Adaiah of Boscath.

KJV : And he did [that which was] right in the sight of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.

ERVEN : During the 18 year that Josiah was king, he sent Shaphan son of Azaliah son of Meshullam, the secretary, to the Lord's Temple. Josiah said,

KJV : Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the silver which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people:
YLT : `Go up unto Hilkiah the high priest, and he doth complete the silver that is brought into the house of Jehovah, that the keepers of the threshold have gathered from the people,

ERVEN : "Go up to Hilkiah the high priest. Tell him that he must get the money that people brought to the Lord's Temple. The gatekeepers collected that money from the people.

ERVEN : The priests must use that money to pay the workers to repair the Lord's Temple. They must give that money to the men who supervise the work on the Lord's Temple.

KJV : And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have gathered the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of them that do the work, that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.
YLT : And Shaphan the scribe cometh in unto the king, and bringeth the king back word, and saith, `Thy servants have poured out the silver that hath been found in the house, and give it into the hand of the doers of the work, the inspectors, in the house of Jehovah.`

ERVEN : He went to King Josiah and told him what happened. Shaphan said, "Your servants have gathered all the money that was in the Temple. They gave it to the men who supervise the work on the Lord's Temple."

The Lord is angry with us, because our ancestors did not listen to the words of this book. They did not obey all the commands that were written for us."

KJV : So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe; (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the college;) and they communed with her.
YLT : And Hilkiah the priest goeth, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, unto Huldah the prophetess, wife of Shallum, son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the garments, and she is dwelling in Jerusalem in the second, and they speak unto her.

ERVEN : So Hilkiah the priest, Ahikam, Acbor, Shaphan, and Asaiah went to Huldah the woman prophet. Huldah was the wife of Shallum son of Tikvah, son of Harhas. He took care of the priests' clothes. Huldah was living in the second quarter in Jerusalem. They went and talked with Huldah.

KJV : Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the works of their hands; therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and shall not be quenched.

ERVEN : "King Josiah of Judah sent you to ask advice from the Lord. Tell Josiah this: 'The Lord, the God of Israel, said the words that you heard. You heard what I said about this place and those who live here. Your heart was soft, and you felt sorry when you heard those things. I said that terrible things would happen to this place. You tore your clothes to show your sadness and you began to cry. That is why I heard you.' The Lord says this.

MOV : അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോടു ചേർത്തുകൊള്ളും; നീ സമാധാനത്തോടെ നിന്റെ കല്ലറയിൽ അടക്കപ്പെടും; ഞാൻ ഈ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു വരുത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്ന അനർത്ഥമൊന്നും നിന്റെ കണ്ണു കാണുകയില്ല. അവർ രാജാവിനോടു ഈ മറുപടി ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
KJV : Behold therefore, I will gather thee unto thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered into thy grave in peace; and thine eyes shall not see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
